I love opera, a lot. If I have my iPod in which is most of the time, I'm probably listening to an opera, Bocelli or Pavarotti. I wish, very truly, that I could do anything near what they do with their voices. I can barely hold a tune together long enough to sing some in the shower; it doesn't stop me from trying though.
Perhaps this is one of those times, like with the black belt thing, that if I applied myself I could sing well but I doubt that. I think this is more of a born with it or not deal. Sad panda.

To be fair, raw talent goes along way...but so does hard work. If you had started studying 5-8 years ago, you'd most likely be able to sing arias now, vertainly art songs. You most certainly wouldn't sound like Pavarotti, but you'd be singing "Che gelida manina." It doesn't help matters that arias are bitches. Even someone with raw talent can't sing them without years of training. I guess what I'm trying to say is that people assume you have to sing well initally in order to take voice lessons...you don't...that's why they're called lessons. Someday I'll play you the tape of my very first voice lesson, HAHAHA.
Many park and rec orgs or community colleges offer cheap voice lessons. If you're serious, you may want to give it a whirl. If nothing else, Brandon and your shower will thank you.
